Clean up drive at Versova beach
The Issue of plastic waste is increasing all over the globe. Beach clean-up drives contribute in raising awareness about plastic pollution amongst population. Participation in beach cleaning is associated with a better understanding of the issue of marine litter and its impacts. Beach cleaning volunteers demonstrate more accurate knowledge of the amount and type of waste in the local
environment, as well as greater awareness of the causes and consequences of marine litter.
Application of the Project in students’ development as Professionals
The activity contributes to understanding and achieving following Sustainable Development goals for students defined by United Nations:

• Life bellow water
The activity makes students more aware and sensitive towards bigger environmental issues, it helps students to innovate ways to create more ways to create healthy and sustainable environment for various living beings and communities. Students collected Plastic waste from the beach. Around 66 tonnes of plastic waste was collected.
