A 3-day workshop on spatial narratives was conducted for the 2nd year students of Aditya College Of Architecture’s by Ar.Yatin Pandya , an eminent Architect and Academician from Ahmedabad. To inspire the students, Mr. Pandya showed them a presentation which delved into the principles of design, visual perceptions, Indian notions of space making and kinaesthetic perception. The students were then organized in groups and the next two days were spent conceptualizing a design for a memorial for people affected by war or natural calamities. Memorials act as historical touchstones that link the past to the present. They are evocative and awaken a multitude of emotions like awe, respect, solemnity and gratitude which students learnt to express architecturally. On the last day, Mr. Pandya, then discussed each of the designs with the students encouraging them to explain their concept and thought process. The Seminar ended on a note of thanking Mr. Yatin Pandya presenting him with a token of our gratitude. The methodology imparted was based on 6 Elements of Architecture and the students had to explore possibilities and premutations how positioning them at their best on their ' Experiential Paths'. The take away for the students was to build an ideology of the Design logic and the Application of the same on an Experiential Programme which was soul engaging in it's own way.
